Boot Camp to Boot Cancer is small group fitness based training program created by cancer survivor and exercise specialist/trainer Vanessa Underwood. These programs will help survivors continue to be active pretreatment, during treatment and for the rest of their lives Studies show that regular exercise will combat some of the side effects common to cancer treatment such as nausea and fatigue. Exercise will be helpful in reducing pain, tightness in joints and muscle imbalances. It will also aid in better sleep, relieve anxiety and stress. The training programs and camaraderie of the participants also helps to strengthen mind body and spirit. It’s much like a support group except with a strong positive I can do this attitude!
I will train both your mind and your body! It’s always good to know that studies show that exercise will help, but I am here to tell you that exercise will combat side effects, exercise will give you mental and physical strength, exercise will help you to survive! I have done it!
What is Boot Camp to Boot Cancer?
Boot Camp incorporates a variety of exercises designed to be both effective and challenging. It will be my mission to personalize your program depending on your current fitness level. We can adapt the exercises at any time, as you move through various stages of treatment, recovery and forward into your daily life and routines. Need more incentive? Read here. Classes will be held in my studio during the winter and outside from May to Nov.
